Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: Special "CSI" Helps Push CBS on Top

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/27/15):

CBS (11.558 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with repeats of "NCIS" (12.780 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (11.621 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) plus a special "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.274 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1).

FOX (3.491 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with an original "MasterChef Junior" (5.037 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) alongside repeats of "New Girl" (2.139 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "The Mindy Project" (1.750 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14).

Next up was ABC (4.371 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with repeats of "Shark Tank" (5.598 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) and "Forever" (2.961 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14) bookending a new "Marvel's Agent Carter" (4.555 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.099 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) offered up new episodes of "Parks & Recreation" (3.469 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5), another "Parks & Recreation" (2.937 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7), "Marry Me" (2.252 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14), "About a Boy" (2.777 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and a repeat "Chicago Fire" (3.578 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10).

And finally, fresh installments of "The Flash" (3.992 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and "Supernatural" (2.130 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) closed out the evening on The CW (3.061 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "The Flash" posted a 0.8 rating while "Supernatural" delivered a 0.8 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.3/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (1/28/14):

NBC (5.928 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) won the demo race on Tuesday thanks to a new "The Biggest Loser" (6.641 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) followed by a two-hour "NBC News Special" (5.571 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4).

CBS (8.217 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of an "NCIS" (11.433 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) repeat, "CBS News Special" (7.425 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) and a second run of "Two and a Half Men" (4.159 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

Next up was FOX (3.108 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) with a new "Dads" (3.903 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2) alongside a repeat "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (3.337 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6) and "FOX News Special" (2.852 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10).

Meanwhile, The CW (2.519 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) served up fresh installments of "The Originals" (2.247 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10) and "Supernatural" (2.792 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 1.3 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 1.4 rating.
