Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Splits Demos with NBC

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/12/15):

CBS (12.321 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) was the most-watched network on Tuesday with the season finales of "NCIS" (14.745 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (13.518 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) plus a special "CSI: Cyber" (8.702 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

NBC (6.578 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) then shared in the demo crown with its mix of "The Voice" (8.976 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), a new "Undateable" (4.316 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and the season finales of "Undateable" (3.945 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and "Chicago Fire" (6.628 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4).

Next up was ABC (5.953 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and a special "Dancing with the Stars" (9.955 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4) followed by a new "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (4.219 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) and the season finale of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.685 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.359 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) served up fresh installments of "Hell's Kitchen" (3.228 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11) and "American Idol" (5.491 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T11).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (3.506 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #6) and "iZombie" (1.760 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14) on The CW (2.633 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 1.1 rating while the latter delivered a 0.5 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.5/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/13/14):

CBS (14.122 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) snagged the top spot on Tuesday thanks to the season finales of "NCIS" (16.765 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.774 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #T2) and "Person of Interest" (10.826 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T4).

NBC (8.058 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then had to settle for second place with its mix of "The Voice" (10.771 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.5, #T2), "About a Boy" (6.789 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7) and the season finales of "About a Boy" (5.835 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8) and "Chicago Fire" (7.091 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T4).

Next up was ABC (3.820 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with its swan song lineup of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (5.229 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T4), "The Goldbergs" (4.129 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #9) and "Trophy Wife" (2.768 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) plus a new "Celebrity Wife Swap" (2.784 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.622 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) served up the season finale of "Glee" (1.922 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) alongside the premiere of "Riot" (1.322 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15).

And finally, the season finale of "The Originals" (2.056 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and a new "Supernatural" (2.140 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) closed out the night on The CW (2.098 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 1.0 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.7 rating.
