Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Tops Demos for Fourth Consecutive Week

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/13/15):

ABC (6.226 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the network to beat among adults 18-49 on Wednesday with the season finales of "The Middle" (6.987 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #5) and "The Goldbergs" (6.712 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4) followed by new episodes of "Modern Family" (8.096 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and "Black-ish" (6.170 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and the season closer to "Nashville" (4.695 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9).

FOX (7.739 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed the silver with the season finale of "American Idol" (7.739 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T6).

Next up was CBS (7.666 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with new episodes of "Survivor: Worlds Apart" (9.434 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) and "CSI: Cyber" (6.878 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T10) alongside the season finale of "CSI: Cyber" (6.688 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T10).

Meanwhile, NBC (6.580 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) served up the penultimate weeks of "The Mysteries of Laura" (6.141 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T12), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.762 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8) and "Chicago PD" (6.837 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T6).

And finally, the season finale of "Arrow" (2.798 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T12) and a new "Supernatural" (2.142 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14) on The CW (2.470 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.8 rating while the latter posted a 0.6 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.4/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/14/14):

CBS (9.941 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) claimed the top spot on Wednesday with its mix of a new "Survivor: Cagayan" (9.878 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #3), the season finale of "Criminal Minds" (11.962 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #2) and a repeat of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (7.982 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7).

FOX (8.765 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) then was a close second place with a new two-hour "American Idol" (8.765 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #4).

Next up was ABC (5.766 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) with its lineup of "The Middle" (6.851 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #5), the departing "Suburgatory" (4.999 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7), "Modern Family" (8.792 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1), "Mixology" (3.921 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10) and the season finale of "Nashville" (5.017 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10).
