ORIGINAL REPORTING FROM AROUND THE GLOBE AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY DRAWS MILLIONS OF VIEWERS TO CBS NEWS' BROADCASTS

Original reporting from around the globe and across the country attracted millions of viewers to CBS News broadcasts, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 14.

CBS News' broadcasts posted year-to-year gains in viewers with the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY, CBS THIS MORNING, FACE THE NATION, CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD, 60 MINUTES and CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY.

60 MINUTES finished the week as CBS's #1 broadcast, while Tuesday's 48 HOURS finished the week ranked #15 out of all primetime network broadcasts.

CBS News correspondents provided viewers with such original reporting as Holly Williams and David Martin's reports on the ongoing battle to stop ISIS; John Dickerson's insight into the Presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush; Seth Doane's report on how an outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea has American doctors on alert; Elizabeth Palmer's look at the devotion to classic American cars in Iran; Jeff Pegues' report on a cyberattack against government computers; Troy Roberts' investigation into a Florida woman accused of killing her boyfriend; and Steve Hartman's report on a 91-year-old man who became a video sensation driving through a garage door.

Here's a recap of how CBS News' broadcasts did last week:

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted a +6% year-to-year increase in viewers and maintained its adults 25-54 rating for the week ending June 12. The broadcast delivered 6.47 million viewers and a 1.2/05 with adults 25-54. The CBS broadcast added +360,000 viewers and closed the viewership gap with NBC by nearly 1 million viewers.

60 MINUTES (R) was CBS's top program and the top news broadcast for the week ending June 14. The broadcast on June 14 delivered 7.46 million viewers and a 1.2/04 with adults 25-54. 60 MINUTES was up +3% in viewers compared to the same night last year.

CBS THIS MORNING was the only network morning news program to post year-to-year gains with adults 25-54, women 25-54 and viewers for the week ending June 12. The broadcast delivered 3.41 million viewers (up +19% from 2.85m), a 0.8/07 with adults 25-54 (up +14% from 0.7/06), and a 0.9/07 with women 25-54 (up +13% from 0.8/06). CBS THIS MORNING added +560,000 viewers year-over-year, closing the viewership gap with both NBC and ABC by 710,000 viewers, and bringing the viewership gap with NBC to less than one million viewers (970,000).

FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program with viewers on June 14. The broadcast delivered 2.75 million viewers and a 0.6/03 with adults 25-54. FACE THE NATION was up +1% in viewers and even with adults 25-54 compared to the same day last year.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD was the #1 Sunday morning news program with adults 25-54 and viewers on June 14. The broadcast delivered 5.24 million viewers and a 1.1/07 in adults 25-54. CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +1% in viewers and even in adults 25-54 when compared to the same day last year.

48 HOURS TUESDAY (R) (10:00-11:00 PM) on June 9 delivered 5.57 million viewers and a 1.2/03 with adults 25-54 to finish the week as the #15 ranked primetime broadcast with viewers. 48 HOURS (R) on June 13 (10:00-11:00 PM) drew 4.61 million viewers and a 1.0/03 in adults 24-54.

CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY posted double-digit percentage gains in adults 25-54 and viewers on June 13. CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY delivered 1.93 million viewers (up +12% from 1.73m) and a 0.5/04 with adults 25-54 (up +25% from 0.4/03).
