NBC TIES FOR THE MONDAY WIN, AS 'NINJA' TOPS ITS YEAR-AGO RESULTS AND 'THE ISLAND' WINS AT 10 AMONG ABC, CBS & NBC
SUMMER TO DATE, 'NINJA' IS UP +17% VS. LAST YEAR IN 18-49, +34% IN TOTAL VIEWERS HEADING INTO LAST NIGHT
DESPITE LAST WEEK'S PREEMPTION, 'THE ISLAND' MATCHES ITS PRIOR TWO TELECASTS IN 18-49, STAYS WITHIN 0.1 OF THE SHOW'S HIGH TO DATE
Monday Primetime Results:
· "American Ninja Warrior" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET), despite last week's preemption, maintained 90% of the 2.0 rating in these fast-affiliate results for its prior telecast two weeks ago and 86% of the 2.1 in official nationals for that June 8 edition. "American Ninja Warrior" is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos.
· Last night's edition of "American Ninja Warrior" is up +6% versus the same night last year (1.8 vs. 1.7 on June 23, 2014, L+SD) and up +18% in total viewers (6.054 million vs. 5.151 million).
· "American Ninja Warrior" is up +17% versus one year ago summer to date in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 1.8, "most current" heading into last night) and up +34% or 1.8 million persons in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 5.3 million).
· "American Ninja Warrior" will add viewership via time-shifting - "American Ninja Warrior" has grown by +16% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" ratings (from a 1.89 to a 2.19) and 799,000 viewers overall (6.4 million to 7.2 million).
· "The Island" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 as well as adults, men and women 18-34 and adults 25-54 (tie).
· Despite last week's preemptions, "The Island" maintained 100% of its prior two ratings in 18-49 (1.1 on June 8 and June 1) and remained within 0.1 of its top rating to date (1.2 for its May 25 premiere).
· "The Island" will add significant viewership via time-shifting - "The Island" has increased by +19% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.15 to a 1.37) and 703,000 viewers overall (3.7 million to 4.4 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
· NBC tied for the nightlong win among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and is #1 outright among those nets in adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.6/7; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.7/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.4/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
