NEW YORK - June 29, 2015 - USA Network's award-winning series MR. ROBOT premiered to strong ratings, reaching a combined L3 audience of 3.7 MM total viewers P2+ (2.83 MM for the 10PM telecast and 823,000 for the 11PM encore). The 10PM telecast also garnered 1.04 MM in P18-49 and 1.20 MM in P25-54 during the June 24 premiere. Overall, the series ranked as a top five premiere for basic cable dramas P18-49 in 2015. An additional 2.7 MM people checked out the pilot across a wide array of digital and VOD platforms. The critically acclaimed series has already been renewed for a second season.
Socially, the MR. ROBOT series premiere achieved more than 97K tweets and #MrRobot trended nationally throughout the night until 3AM reaching the top organic spot on the trending topics list.
The pilot was available four weeks before the on-air premiere, as part of the network's unique windowing strategy. Beginning May 27, USA made the pilot available via On Demand platforms including Xfinity On Demand, USANetwork.com, the USA Now Ap (iOS, Android, XBOX One), Hulu and YouTube, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu, XBOX Video, and M-GO. The pilot was also available via Twitch, IMDb, EW.com, THR.com, Telemundo, Terra.com, Latina.com, The Verge.com and 22 sites within the Crave Online.
MR. ROBOT follows Elliot (Rami Malek, "The Pacific"), a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, "The Adderall Diaries") of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world. The series also stars Portia Doubleday ("Her"), Carly Chaikin ("Suburgatory") and Martin Wallstr�m ("Simple Simon).
The series won over audiences at this year's South By Southwest Festival in March, winning the coveted audience award in the Episodics category. MR. ROBOT was also named an official selection of the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival in April.
