Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Wins Competitive Night in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/12/15):

NBC (5.533 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) took home the top spot on a competitive Wednesday with its mix of "America's Got Talent" (8.297 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2), "Mr. Robinson" (4.454 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), another "Mr. Robinson" (3.539 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Last Comic Standing" (4.306 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4).

The silver then went to CBS (5.127 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) with its trio of "Big Brother 17" (6.546 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), "Extant" (4.476 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) and a repeat "Criminal Minds" (4.360 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14).

Next up was FOX (3.793 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its pairing of "MasterChef" (4.617 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and "Home Free" (2.968 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.199 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up repeats of "The Middle" (3.680 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11), "The Goldbergs" (3.303 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9), "Modern Family" (3.843 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), "Black-ish" (3.364 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Celebrity Wife Swap" (2.500 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11).

And finally, new episodes of "America's Next Top Model" (1.432 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) and "A Wicked Offer" (1.022 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) on The CW (1.227 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.5 rating while the latter posted a 0.4 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/13/14):

NBC (6.912 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the most-watched network on Wednesday with its mix of an "America's Got Talent" (5.827 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) recap followed by new episodes of "America's Got Talent" (9.704 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Taxi Brooklyn" (5.204 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

CBS (5.709 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) then split the demo crown with its combination of "Big Brother 16" (6.594 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "Criminal Minds" (4.899 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and "Extant" (5.633 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T8).

Next up was ABC (3.765 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) with repeats of "The Middle" (4.242 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "The Goldbergs" (3.701 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Modern Family" (3.717 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) and another "Modern Family" (3.933 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) plus a new "Motive" (3.497 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.444 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) offered up an original "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.444 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T8).

And finally, a new "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.665 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) and a repeat "The 100" (0.642 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) closed out the evening on The CW (1.153 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.2 rating while the latter posted a 0.0 rating.
