"The Astronaut Wives Club" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 3.8 million and 0.7/3 in AD18-49):
The series finale of ABC's "The Astronaut Wives Club" shot up over the prior week by 19% in Total Viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.2 million) and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3 vs. 0.6/3) to deliver 3-week highs - since 7/30/15. In addition, the ABC summertime drama grew week to week by 25% in Women 18-49 and 25% in Women 25-54.
· On average during its 10-episode run, "The Astronaut Wives Club" improved its 8 o'clock hour for ABC over original programming during the comparable weeks last summer ("Black Box"/"The Quest" = 3.9 million and 0.8/3) by 28% in Total Viewers and 25% in Adults 18-49.
"Mistresses" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.3 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
ABC's "Mistresses" grew for the 2nd straight week in Total Viewers (+10% - 3.3 million vs. 3.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+14% - 0.8/3 vs. 0.7/3) to deliver its best performance in more than 1 month - since 7/9/15 and 7/16/15, respectively. In addition, "Mistresses" soared week to week by 50% in Women 18-34 to a new season high.
"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.6 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):
ABC's "Rookie Blue" was up for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (+9% - 3.6 million vs. 3.3 million) to attract its largest overall audience in 3 weeks (since 7/30/15), while holding steady in Adults 18-49 (0.6/2).
A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
