'BLACKLIST' GROWS +13% VS. LAST SEASON'S FINALE; THIRD-STRAIGHT EPISODE TO INCREASE BY 0.2 VS. PRIROR TELECAST
'BLACKLIST' EQUALS ITS HIGH SINCE FEBRUARY
'HEROES REBORN' HAS GENERATED NBC'S TWO HIGHEST THURS. 8-9 P.M. RESULTS IN TWO- AND-A-HALF YEARS WITH REGULAR IN-SEASON PROGRAMMING
Thursday Primetime Results:
The third season debut of "The Blacklist" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Is up +13% versus last season's finale (1.8 vs. 1.6 on May 14), despite facing the combination of Thursday NFL football on CBS and ABC's "Scandal" for the first time.
· Going back to last season, this is the third consecutive "Blacklist" to grow by 0.2 of a point or more versus the prior episode (1.2 on April 30 to 1.4 on May 7 to 1.6 on May 14 to 1.8 on Oct. 1).
· Captures its top result since March 19 (1.8) and equals its highest 18-49 rating since Feb. 26 (1.9).
· Will add many time-shifted viewers - grew by +74% in L+7 18-49 rating last season (from a 2.35 to a 4.10) and 5.6 million viewers overall (9.5 million to 15.1 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
· Beats Fox's season premiere of "Sleepy Hollow" head to head by +80% (1.8 vs. 1.0).
· Keep in mind: Last fall's "Blacklist" premiere had a "Voice" lead-in (4.4 rating at 9:30) and last February's "Blacklist" Thursday premiere completed a two-parter launched on Super Bowl Sunday.
"Heroes Reborn" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):
· Has now delivered NBC's two best results in two-and-a-half-years in the time period with regularly scheduled in-season programming (2.0 last week, 1.6 this week, two best since Feb. 7, 2013, 1.9).
· Beat NBC's slot average from last season by +60% in 18-49 (1.6 vs. 1.0, L+SD non-sports).
· Increased by +23% versus the year-ago rating in the slot (1.6 vs. 1.3 on Oct. 2, 2015).
· TIME-SHIFTING / ALTERNATE PLATFORMS: Last week's debut grew by +82% (to a 3.6 rating) in four days via time-shifting and alternate-platform viewership (1.96 to a projected 3.57 in TAMi estimates).
· Tops Fox's season debut of "Bones" head to head by +23% (1.6 vs. 1.3).
· Grew from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (1.5 to 1.6) and most other key demos.
"The Player" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Is up +29% versus Week 2 of NBC's prior new drama in the slot in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7 for "Allegiance," Feb. 12, 2015), despite last night's stiff time-period competition from CBS's NFL football and ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder."
· Last week's premiere increased by +53% (to a 1.8 rating) in four days via time-shifting and alternate-platform viewership*.
· TIME-SHIFTING / ALTERNATE PLATFORMS: Last week's debut grew +53% (to a 1.8 rating) in four days via time-shifting and alternate-platform viewership (1.16 to a projected 1.78 in TAMi estimates).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.3/8, delayed by an NFL overrun; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.4/6.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.8/5, delayed by an NFL overrun; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.5/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) tied CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.3/6, delayed by an NFL overrun). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) tied "Late Late Show" (0.5/4, delayed by an NFL overrun).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
