Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Demos for Fifth Consecutive Week

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/15/15):

CBS (10.660 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1) extended its win streak to five weeks with new episodes of "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (7.972 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2) and "Thursday Night Football" (11.198 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.5, #1).

ABC (7.642 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) likewise again took home the silver with originals from "Grey's Anatomy" (8.181 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4), "Scandal" (7.999 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (6.746 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #5).

Next up was NBC (4.939 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its trio of "Heroes Reborn" (4.008 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7), "The Blacklist" (6.826 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #6) and "The Player" (3.982 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.391 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Bones" (5.729 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) and "Sleepy Hollow" (3.052 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9).

And finally, new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.395 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) and "The Originals" (1.093 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12) on The CW (1.244 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.7/5, delayed by an NFL overrun; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.2/5, delayed by an NFL overrun). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) tied "Late Late Show" (0.4/4, delayed by an NFL overrun).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/16/14):

CBS (11.867 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1) continued its win streak on Thursday thanks to its presentations of the "Thursday Night Football Pre-Game" (8.863 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.5, #4) and "Thursday Night Football" (12.468 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.9, #1).

ABC (9.320 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #2) then snagged the silver with originals from "Grey's Anatomy" (8.445 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.4, #5), "Scandal" (9.844 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (9.672 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3).

Next up was FOX (5.113 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) with fresh installments of "Bones" (6.405 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #6) and "Gracepoint" (3.821 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #12).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.291 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) served up new episodes of "The Biggest Loser" (4.709 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7), "Bad Judge" (4.694 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9), "A to Z" (3.364 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10) and "Parenthood" (4.136 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

And finally, first run installments of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.862 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11) and "Reign" (1.362 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) closed out the evening on The CW (1.612 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" delivered a 1.3 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Reign" a 0.7 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

·At 1:35 a.m. ET , "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
