Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Demos with Drama Trio

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/23/16):

CBS (11.914 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with its original mix of "NCIS" (17.373 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (12.507 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Limitless" (5.864 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8).

NBC (6.210 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was the number two draw with its Sunday-bound "Hollywood Game Night" (4.218 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8) followed by new episodes of "Chicago Med" (6.680 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) and "Chicago Fire" (7.733 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3).

Next up was The CW (2.646 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with originals from "The Flash" (3.820 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5) and "iZombie" (1.472 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.855 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) offered up new episodes of "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.538 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6), "The Muppets" (2.574 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11), "Marvel's Agent Carter" (2.585 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11) and another "Marvel's Agent Carter" (2.425 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14).

And finally, FOX (2.169 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) closed out the evening with new episodes from "New Girl" (2.718 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6), "Grandfathered" (2.227 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.110 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10) and "The Grinder" (1.622 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/24/15):

NBC (10.611 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) was the network to beat among adults 18-49 with night two of "The Voice" (13.822 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1) followed by part one of the "Parks & Recreation" (3.594 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8) finale and part two of the "Parks & Recreation" (4.785 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T4) finale.

CBS (13.577 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then claimed the silver with originals from "NCIS" (17.427 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2), "NCIS: New Orleans" (13.839 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3) and "Person of Interest" (9.466 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #6).

Next up was FOX (3.716 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and the season finale of "MasterChef Junior" (4.802 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #7) alongside new episodes of "New Girl" (2.905 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8) and "The Mindy Project" (2.356 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #12).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.496 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) served up its mix of "Fresh Off the Boat" (5.786 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T4), "Repeat After Me" (3.894 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10), the season finale of "Marvel's Agent Carter" (4.003 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10) and "Forever" (4.646 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #13).

And finally, the special "TV's Hottest Commercials Countdown" (1.395 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14) and a repeat "The Flash" (1.119 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) closed out the evening on The CW (1.257 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 0.2 rating while the latter delivered a 0.3 rating.
