Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Claims Top Honors in Total Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/26/16):

CBS (8.092 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) pulled into the top demo spot on Friday with its mix of "The Amazing Race" (5.782 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.235 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) and "Blue Bloods" (10.259 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1).

ABC (5.005 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) then was the number two draw with its lineup of "Last Man Standing" (6.855 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4), "Dr. Ken" (5.163 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7), "Shark Tank" (5.512 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) and "20/20" (3.494 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Next up was NBC (4.976 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) with a new "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.549 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and a special two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.689 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.396 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Sleepy Hollow" (2.985 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) and "Second Chance" (1.807 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).And finally, The CW (1.112 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the evening with its crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" (1.169 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and "The Originals" (1.056 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,"1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/27/15):

ABC (6.091 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was still the network to beat on Friday with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (7.250 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1), "Cristela" (5.674 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7), a repeat "Shark Tank" (5.912 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) and "20/20" (5.899 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

CBS (7.800 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with the Friday premiere of "The Amazing Race" (6.148 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), a new "Hawaii Five-0" (9.467 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and a repeat "Blue Bloods" (7.784 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9).

Next up was NBC (5.128 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) with an encore of "The Night Shift" (3.004 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (6.190 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3).

Next up was FOX (2.255 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) with fresh installments from "World's Funniest Fails" (2.836 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) and "Glee" (1.674 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10).

And finally, a new "Hart of Dixie" (1.189 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) and repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.881 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) and another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.862 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) on The CW (1.030 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.5, 0.4 and 0.3 rating, respectively.
