Ratings Up Among Women with the Highest Female-Skewing 1Q in Over a Decade
(Los Angeles) - Discovery continues to dominate by wrapping the first quarter as the #1 non-sports cable network in M25-54. But it isn't just men watching. Ratings grew over 1Q15 across all key women demos (W25-54, 18-49, 18-34), with Discovery scoring its best 1Q in over a decade among W25-54 and W18-49. Also Discovery marked its best March in 15 years among P25-54.
Discovery Channel owned eight of the top 10 unscripted cable series - more than any other cable network. Leading the pack was GOLD RUSH as the #1 series on all of television for Friday nights across M25-54, M18-49, P18-34 and M18-34. Other fan-favorites rounding out the quarter included FAST N' LOUD (#2) and ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE (#3). Discovery also claimed 1Q16's no. 1 unscripted cable series in all key men (M25-54, M18-49, M18-34) across 5 nights of the week.
Freshman series DIESEL BROTHERS and STREET OUTLAWS: NEW ORLEANS - both airing as part of Discovery's Motor Monday line up - also pulled in top ratings and are pacing as 2016's top 2 new unscripted cable series across M25-54, M18-49 and M18-34. On Sunday nights, pop-culture phenomenon NAKED AND AFRAID ranks as Sunday's #1 cable show in M25-54, M18-49, and M18-34 for the quarter.
Driven by both a strong line-up of both returning and all-new series, Discovery had its second highest-rated quarter ever in P25-54 and second-most watched ever in P2+.
