Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Wins Big with NBA Finals Opener

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/2/16):

ABC (13.397 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.0, #1) overshadowed the competition on Thursday with its mix of "Jimmy Kimmel: Game Night" (9.171 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #3), "NBA Countdown" (8.898 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.1, #2) and "NBA Finals, Game 1" (15.579 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.0, #1).

CBS (5.046 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was king of the leftovers with its repeat mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.688 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4), "Life in Pieces" (5.637 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5), "Mom" (5.242 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6), "The Odd Couple" (4.248 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) and "Code Black" (3.729 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10).

Next up was FOX (3.286 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with its duo of "Bones" (4.491 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #7) and "American Grit" (2.082 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.369 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up the season finale of "STRONG" (2.647 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) alongside a new "Game of Silence" (2.243 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) and a second "Game of Silence" (2.219 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, a repeat "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.810 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) and the return of "Beauty and the Beast" (0.832 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) on The CW (0.821 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/9, delayed by an NBA Finals overrun.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," delayed by an NBA Finals overrun, averaged a 1.9/7 in metered-market households and a 0.9/7 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

ABC (12.499 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.8, #1) was the network to beat on Thursday with its coverage of "Jimmy Kimmel: Game Night" (7.898 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3), "NBA Countdown" (9.617 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.6, #2) and "NBA Finals, Game 1" (14.370 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.6, #1).
