NBC WINS PREMIERE TUESDAY IN EVERY KEY DEMO, WITH THE #1-2 SHOWS OF THE NIGHT IN 18-49 AMONG THE BIG 4 IN 18-49
Tuesday Primetime Results:
NBC wins the night in every key demo, sweeping 6 of 6 half-hours in 18-49. "The Voice" and "This Is Us" are the #1-2 shows of the night in 18-49.
The debut of "This Is Us" (2.8/10 in 18-49, 10.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Is NBC's highest-RATED scripted program in the time slot in more than six years, since April 20, 2010 ("Parenthood, "2.9).
· Is NBC's most-watched scripted program in the hour in more than seven years, since June 2, 2009 ("SVU," 11.5 million).
· Is the highest-rated series debut so far this season in 18-49.
· Beats 26 of 28 new-drama premieres on the Big 4 over the past year in 18-49 and is the top-rated drama debut on the Big 4 since "Supergirl" (3.1 on 10/26/15). It also tops 25 of 27 new-drama debuts over the past year in total viewers.
· Wins the slot over season premieres of "NCIS: NO" by +100% (2.8 vs. 1.4) and "S.H.I.E.L.D." by +154% (2.8 vs. 1.1).
· Wins the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic.
· The family-friendly drama is the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 in kids 2-11 (1.1), tying NBC's strongest drama premiere in that demo in eight years, since September 2008, a span of 59 drama launches.
"The Voice" (3.4/12 in 18-49, 12.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET):
· Jumps +13% versus its prior premiere (3.4 vs. 3.0 on March 1) and soars +55% above its spring finale (3.4 vs. 2.2 on May 24).
· Is growing even faster among younger viewers - in adults 18-34 last night's "Voice" is up +33% versus its prior debut (2.4 vs. 1.8 on March 1) and up +85% vs. the May finale (2.4 vs. 1.3).
· Scores its highest Tuesday rating in nearly a year (since Sept. 29, 2015, 3.7) and biggest overall Tuesday viewership since March 8 (13.5 million).
· Wins the time period among the Big 4 nets in every key demographic.
· Is the #1 show of the night in 18-49 and all other key demos.
· Wins the time period in every key demo.
· Retains 97% of its year-ago Tuesday debut in 18-49 (3.4 vs. 3.5 on Sept. 22, 2015) and 98% in total viewers (12.154 million vs. 12.348 million)
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - last season, Tuesday's "Voice" increased by +24% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.63 to a 3.27) and 1.9 million viewers overall (11.3 million to 13.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
· Upscale: Last season, Tuesday's "Voice" delivered a solidly upscale audience, indexing at a 118 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes ("most current," including L+3).
· On Sunday night, "The Voice" won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program for a third time.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.8/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.8/8; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) tied CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.4/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
