World Series Game 6 Is +66% Better Than Game 6 In 2014

Cleveland, OH - The two best words in the world of sports: Game Seven. And that is exactly what baseball fans are being gifted after the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians, 9-3, in last night's Game 6 at Progressive Field. Tuesday night's World Series Game 6 posted a 14.8/24 overnight rating/share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 14.8/24 overnight is the best-metered market rating for a World Series Game 6 since 2009, a championship clincher between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees.

World Series Game 6 is up +66% over 2014 (vs. 8.9/14; San Francisco Giants vs. Kansas City Royals), projects to be FOX's best Tuesday night in primetime since March of 2010 and easily powered FOX to a first-place finish in primetime among the broadcast networks.

Cleveland led all markets by delivering a 40.5/59 overnight rating/share, with Chicago posting a 40.2/59.

Fast Nationals have been ordered for last night's Game 6 and will be made available later today.

Cleveland, OH - World Series Game 6 between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians Tuesday night, registered a 13.3/23 household rating/share with 23.4 million viewers on the FOX broadcast network. Last night's contest is the most-watched World Series Game 6 since 1997's 23.7 million when the Florida Marlins faced the Indians, according to fast national figures released by Nielsen Media Research. Combined with FOX Deportes (425,000 total viewers) and FOX Sports GO (150,852 average minute audience), World Series Game 6 registered 24 million total viewers.

Tuesday night's World Series Game 6 is the highest-rated Game 6 since 2009's 13.4/22, a clinching game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees. Compared to World Series Game 6 in 2014 between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals, last night's game is up +64% (vs. 8.1/13). Last night easily ranks as FOX's highest-rated and most-watched primetime telecast of the broadcast season and the networks best Tuesday night in over six years. Compared to 2014's World Series, 2016 is up +55% on household rating (vs. 7.3/13) and up +63% on average audience (vs. 12.3 million).

FOX continued its surge in male demos over 2014 in M12-17 (+105%; 4.1 vs. 2.0), M18-34 (+85%; 6.1 vs. 3.3), M18-49 (+73%; 7.8 vs. 4.5), and M25-54 (+67%; 9.0 vs. 5.4). In A18-49, last night's Game 6 is up +89% (6.6 vs. 3.5).

FOX Deportes' 425,000 average total viewers for World Series Game 6 is the most-watched World Series game in Spanish language television history and is up +67% (254,000 viewers) over 2014's Game 6 viewership.

FOX Sports GO's average minute audience of 150,852 set a new record for an authenticated event.

FOX and FOX Deportes televise World Series Game 7 between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians Wednesday night from Progressive Field in Cleveland with a live pregame show beginning at 7:00 PM ET on FOX.
