Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Holds Off NBC, ABC Among Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/3/16):

CBS (7.657 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) was the top draw on a competitive Thursday with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (13.933 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1), "The Great Indoors" (8.303 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3), "Mom" (7.025 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6), "Life in Pieces" (5.962 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6) and "Pure Genius" (5.360 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

NBC (5.936 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was a close second with its lineup of "Superstore" (4.047 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9), "The Good Place" (4.431 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5), "Chicago Med" (7.423 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4) and "The Blacklist" (6.146 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6).

Next up was ABC (5.059 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (7.516 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2), "Notorious" (3.621 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T13) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (4.043 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.069 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up originals from "Rosewood" (3.366 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T13) and "Pitch" (2.773 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

And finally, The CW (1.788 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) likewise served up fresh installments of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (1.737 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #16) and "Supernatural" (1.840 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.7, #15).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/5/15):

CBS (8.852 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) was the most-watched network on Thursday with its new lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (15.049 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1), "Life in Pieces" (9.186 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2), "Mom" (8.391 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #5), a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (7.209 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7) and "Elementary" (6.639 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8).

ABC (7.669 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T1) then shared in the demo crown with its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (8.487 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2), "Scandal" (8.026 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (6.493 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.9, #6).

Next up was NBC (4.507 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with originals from "Heroes Reborn" (3.954 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #10), "The Blacklist" (6.346 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #9) and "The Player" (3.219 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #13).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.187 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up new episodes of "Bones" (5.349 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11) and "Sleepy Hollow" (3.024 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #12).

And finally, fresh installments of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.352 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) and "The Originals" (0.998 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #15) on The CW (1.175 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the night.
