NBC LEADS ITS SIXTH CONSECUTIVE NIGHT IN 18-49
Friday Primetime Ratings:
NBC wins its sixth consecutive night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 (pending updates, based from Wednesday through Friday on fast-affiliate ratings).
The 50th anniversary telecast of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 8-8:35 p.m. ET):
· Scores NBC's top rating in the slot in 21 months in 18-49, excluding Olympics (since Feb. 20, 2015, "SNL 40" encore, 1.3).
· Delivers NBC's best total-viewer figure in the time period in nearly two years (since Dec. 12, 2014, 6.9 million, "Dateline NBC").
· Is the #1 show of the night in 18-49.
· Grows +71% versus NBC's time-period average last season in 18-49 (1.2 vs. 0.7, non-sports L+SD) and +57% or 1.9 million persons in total viewers (5.172 million vs. 3.294 million).
· Wins the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.
A rebroadcast of "How Murray Saved Christmas" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 8:35-9:05 p.m. ET):
· Equals NBC's 18-49 high in the slot since June 17 (0.9 with an "America's Got Talent" encore), excluding Olympics-related telecasts.
· Attracts the network's biggest overall audience in the slot since Sept. 2 (3.319 million with a rebroadcast "America's Got Talent").
· Grows +60% versus the show's first telecast of the holiday season last year in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.5 at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015) and +48% in total viewers (3.269 million vs. 2.205 million).
· Ties for #1 in the slot among the Big 4 networks in men 18-49 and men 25-54.
An encore telecast of "Dateline NBC" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 1.2 in adults 25-54, 4.2 million viewers overall from 9:05-11 p.m. ET):
· Wins the slot among the Big 4 nets in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
· Ranks #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in every key demo, including men 25-54 and women 25-54.
· Grows +43% from its first half-hour to its fourth in adults 18-49 (0.7 to 1.0), +56% in adults 25-54 (0.9 to 1.4) and +40% or 1.4 million persons in total viewers (3.4 million to 4.8 million).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.3/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.5/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/1 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.8/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
