Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, NBC Share the Demo Crown

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/3/17):

ABC (3.451 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) and NBC (3.837 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) shared the top demo honors on Friday with a new "Shark Tank" (6.091 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) and the conclusion of "When We Rise, Part 4" (2.132 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #8).

The Peacock then offered up a new "Grimm" (4.206 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2), the season finale of "Emerald City" (2.902 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5) and "Dateline NBC" (4.403 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

Next up was CBS (6.369 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with repeats of "MacGyver" (5.516 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5), "Hawaii Five-0" (6.665 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (6.925 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.928 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up a second run "Rosewood" (1.970 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and a new "Sleepy Hollow" (1.887 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).

And finally, originals from "The Vampire Diaries" (1.169 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and "Reign" (0.656 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) closed out the night on The CW (0.912 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/4/16):

ABC (4.709 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) was the network to beat among adults 18-49 on Friday with its mix of a repeat "Last Man Standing" (5.414 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4), a new "Dr. Ken" (4.776 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1), a repeat "Shark Tank" (4.722 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) and "20/20" (4.311 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4).

CBS (6.503 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was a close second place with a new "The Amazing Race" (5.779 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) alongside second runs of "Hawaii Five-0" (6.413 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9) and "Blue Bloods" (7.319 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4).

Next up was NBC (3.955 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with a repeat "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (2.975 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) and originals from "Grimm" (4.209 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4) and "Dateline NBC" (4.681 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.582 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Sleepy Hollow" (3.009 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10) and "Second Chance" (2.155 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.079 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) and "The Originals" (0.900 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) on The CW (0.989 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.
