Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, "Big Brother" Hold Off Competition

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/10/17):

CBS (5.729 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) was still the network to beat on Thursday with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.055 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T3), "Kevin Can Wait" (5.772 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T3), "Big Brother 19" (7.298 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) and "Zoo" (3.476 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11).

Silver then went to NBC (5.297 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) with its lineup of "The Wall" (6.170 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5), "Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update" (6.531 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), a repeat "Great News" (3.865 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "The Night Shift" (4.523 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10).

Next up was FOX (3.629 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and fresh installments from "Beat Shazam" (3.739 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6) and "Love Connection" (3.520 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

Meanwhile, ABC (5.130 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up a new "Boy Band" (3.435 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12) and the conclusion to "The Story of Diana - Part 2" (5.978 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

And finally, new episodes of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (2.079 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.737 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) plus a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.635 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) rounded out the night on The CW (1.883 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.9/5; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.4/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.7/3, delayed by a PGA Golf report. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2, delayed by a PGA Golf report.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/11/16):

NBC (31.345 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 9.0, #1) was the top draw on night seven of the "Olympic Games Rio 2016" (31.345 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 9.0, #1).

CBS (4.813 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the silver medalist with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (6.318 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3), "Life in Pieces" (4.817 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4), "Big Brother 18" (5.862 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Code Black" (3.009 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5).

Next up was ABC (2.571 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and repeats of "BattleBots" (2.884 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5), "$100,000 Pyramid" (2.554 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7) and "Match Game" (2.275 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.320 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) likewise served second runs of "Rosewood" (2.392 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7) and "Bones" (2.250 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7).

And finally, a repeat "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (1.294 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11) and a new "Beauty and the Beast" (1.084 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) closed out the night on The CW (1.189 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).
