The time period premiere of THE ORVILLE delivered a seven-day multi-platform audience of 7.4 million viewers, marking an +80% lift from same day viewership (4.1 million) last Thursday, Sept. 21, at 9:00 PM ET/PT. FOX's new space adventure series from Seth MacFarlane posted a 2.0/8 Live+7 Day rating among Adults 18-49, gaining +82% vs. Live+Same Day (1.1/4) and up +18% from the Season Four premiere of GOTHAM. THE ORVILLE also marked FOX's highest-rated Thursday 9:00pm telecast in more than two years.
Drawing 5.7 multi-platform viewers, GOTHAM was up +78% vs. its same day viewership (3.2 million) and posted a 1.7/7 L7, up +70% vs. same day (1.0/4).
Together, GOTHAM and THE ORVILLE drove FOX to post its highest-rated Thursday with all regular scripted originals in nearly two years, according to Nielsen.
In the next all-new episode of GOTHAM, "A Dark Knight: They Who Hide Behind Masks," airing Thursday, Oct. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Gordon (Ben McKenzie) takes matters into his own hands when he travels to Miami in an attempt to persuade Carmine Falcone (guest star John Doman) for his help in the fight against Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). There, he meets Carmine's daughter, Sofia (Crystal Reed), who unexpectedly follows Gordon back to Gotham. The battle for Penguin's prized weaponry continues during auction night at the Iceberg Lounge and Bruce's (David Mazouz) presence puts him on Penguin's radar.
In the next all-new episode of THE ORVILLE, "Pria," airing at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT, Ed (Seth MacFarlane) and the Orville crew save a stranded ship and its attractive captain (guest star Charlize Theron). When Ed becomes smitten with the Orville's new guest, Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) suspects all is not what it seems. Also, Gordon (Scott Grimes) attempts to teach Isaac (Mark Jackson) the art of pulling off a practical joke.
