TRAVEL CHANNEL'S FOUR-PART SPECIAL 'EXPEDITION UNKNOWN: HUNT FOR EXTRATERRESTRIALS' CULMINATES AS ONE OF NETWORK'S HIGHEST-RATED

NEW YORK (October 30, 2017) - Travel Channel's four-part special event "Expedition Unknown: Hunt for Extraterrestrials," featuring explorer and adventurer Josh Gates, generated out-of-this-world ratings success for the network, ranking as one of the highest-rated shows on Travel Channel this year. More than 6.1 million viewers tuned in during the mini-series' run. Airing on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT over four weeks, the series rated 76 percent above the network's prime average.
Additionally, "Expedition Unknown: After the Hunt," which premiered at 10 p.m. ET/PT as a four-part series of after-show companion specials, drew in over 3.6 million viewers, generating a 38 percent ratings increase from its year-ago timeslot levels.
"Expedition Unknown: Hunt for Extraterrestrials" traced Gates' epic journey across North America, South America, Africa and Europe on his search for evidence of life beyond our planet and the truth behind longstanding extraterrestrial legends. In "Expedition Unknown: After the Hunt," Gates and his team revisited his journey in a candid, behind-the-scenes forum, as they dug deeper into their astounding findings.
