Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demos, CBS Leads Viewers

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/22/17):

NBC (4.462 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the demo champ on Friday with the fall finale of "Blindspot" (3.512 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) followed by a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.937 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1).

CBS (5.731 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with its mix of "I Love Lucy Christmas Special" (6.542 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1), "Dick Van Dyke - Now in Living Color! Special" (5.786 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and a repeat "Blue Bloods" (4.865 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7).

Next up was ABC (2.811 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with a repeat "Shark Tank" (3.706 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) followed by the fall finale of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.456 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and "20/20" (2.272 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.845 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) opted for repeats of "Hell's Kitchen" (1.924 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) and a second "Hell's Kitchen" (1.766 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7).

And finally, rebroadcasts of "Masters of Illusion: Christmas Magic" (1.303 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and "Greatest Holiday Commercials Countdown 2017" (1.164 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (1.234 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/23/16):

NBC (4.222 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the demo champ on Friday with its holiday mix of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (4.830 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1), "How Murray Saved Christmas" (3.585 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) and "Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love" (4.229 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3).

CBS (5.282 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) then claimed the most watched honors with its annual "A Home for the Holidays" (4.407 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) special followed by repeats of "Hawaii Five-0" (5.174 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and "Blue Bloods" (6.265 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3).

Next up was ABC (4.347 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) with repeats of "Last Man Standing" (5.022 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Dr. Ken" (3.769 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and "Shark Tank" (3.828 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6) plus a new "20/20" (4.818 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.458 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #4) served up repeats of "Taraji's White Hot Holidays" (1.886 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) and "Sleepy Hollow" (1.030 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T12).

And finally, a new "Terry Crews Saves Christmas" (0.662 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T12) and the season finale of "Terry Crews Saves Christmas" (0.560 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T12) closed out the evening on The CW (0.611 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).
