Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: "Big Bang Theory" Powers Another Victory for CBS

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/5/18):

CBS (8.194 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) continued its Thursday reign last night with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (12.732 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1), "Young Sheldon" (11.570 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "Mom" (8.461 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4), "Life in Pieces" (6.163 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) and "SWAT" (5.119 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10).

ABC (5.249 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a close second with its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (6.749 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "Station 19" (5.117 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Scandal" (3.880 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7).

Next up was NBC (3.634 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and originals from "Superstore" (3.170 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "AP Bio" (2.276 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13) followed by the season finale of "Will & Grace" (3.596 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T7) plus new episodes of "Champions" (1.953 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #16) and "Chicago Fire" (5.406 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.613 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up new episodes of "Gotham" (2.544 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12) and "Showtime at the Apollo" (2.683 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13).

And finally, fresh installments of "Supernatural" (1.866 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13) and "Arrow" (1.372 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.4, #17) on The CW (1.618 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) rounded out the night.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households); CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore delayed by a Masters golf report). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night" (0.3/3 in 18-49); "Late Late Show" (0.1/1 with an encore delayed by a Masters golf report).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/6/17):

CBS (6.878 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) edged out the top spot on Thursday with originals from "The Big Bang Theory" (12.330 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1), "The Great Indoors" (7.141 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3), "Mom" (7.559 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3), "Life in Pieces" (5.642 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6) and "The Amazing Race" (4.299 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8).
