Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "CMA Awards" Put ABC on Top

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/14/18):

ABC (10.060 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) surged in front on Wednesday thanks to its telecast of "The 52nd Annual CMA Awards" (10.060 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1).

FOX (4.297 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then got bumped to second with new episodes of "Empire" (4.899 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) and "Star" (3.695 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6).

Next up was NBC (6.925 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) and its trio of "Chicago Med" (7.482 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5), "Chicago Fire" (7.287 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) and "Chicago PD" (6.006 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.622 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up new episodes from "Survivor: David vs. Goliath" (7.190 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2), "SEAL Team" (5.180 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) and "Criminal Minds" (4.495 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9).

And finally on The CW (0.954 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5), originals from "Riverdale" (1.244 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10) and "All American" (0.663 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #11) rounded out the night.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/15/17):

FOX (4.939 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) returned to the top spot on Wednesday with new episodes of "Empire" (6.126 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) and "Star" (3.753 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

Second place then went to CBS (7.162 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) with originals from "Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers" (8.716 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2), "SEAL Team" (7.167 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9) and "Criminal Minds" (5.603 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11).

Next up was NBC (6.635 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) and the fall finale of "The Blacklist" (5.863 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #12) followed by a special "The Voice" (7.664 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T4) and a new "Chicago PD" (6.378 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.845 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) offered up its lineup of "The Goldbergs" (5.616 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T4), "Speechless" (4.429 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9), "Modern Family" (5.967 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2), "American Housewife" (4.894 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6) and "Designated Survivor" (4.081 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #13).
