Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Splits Demos with ABC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/17/19):

CBS (7.932 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) was the top draw on Thursday with its lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (13.177 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1), "Young Sheldon" (11.397 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3), "Mom" (8.535 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4), "Fam" (6.016 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7) and a repeat "SWAT" (4.234 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14).

ABC (5.038 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) then shared in the demo honors with the return of "Grey's Anatomy" (7.026 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "A Million Little Things" (5.245 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (2.842 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11).

Next up was NBC (3.926 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with originals from "The Titan Games" (4.858 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.838 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8), "The Good Place" (2.552 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.224 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.697 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up new episodes of "Gotham" (2.418 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) and "The Orville" (2.975 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11).

And finally, the return of "Supernatural" (1.439 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #15) and a rebroadcast of "Roswell, New Mexico" (1.080 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) rounded out the evening on The CW (1.260 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (9.326 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) held off the competition on Thursday with its combination of "The Big Bang Theory" (14.690 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1), "Young Sheldon" (13.238 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2), "Mom" (9.259 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4), "Life in Pieces" (6.787 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8) and "SWAT" (5.991 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).
