'NIGHTLINE' DELIVERS WEEK-TO-WEEK GROWTH IN ALL KEY MEASURES TO RANK NO. 1 ACROSS THE BOARD FOR WEEK OF DEC. 28

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Slashes Its Margins With NBC's 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, Posting Its Closest-Ever Adult Demo Performances

'Nightline' Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' by Its Largest Season Margins in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 in 5 Years

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (855,000), Adults 25-54 (274,000) and Adults 18-49 (199,000) for week of Dec. 28, 2020, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show-JC-ENC" (731,000, 181,000 and 172,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+124,000), Adults 25-54 (+93,000) and Adults 18-49 (+57,000).

In addition, "Nightline" defeated NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM" (788,000, 273,000 and 193,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+67,000), Adults 25-54 (+1,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6,000).

"Nightline" saw week-to-week increases across the board: Total Viewers (+2% - 855,000 vs. 836,000), Adults 25-54 (+15% - 274,000 vs. 239,000) and Adults 18-49 (+49% - 199,000 vs. 134,000). "Nightline" hit 6-week highs in both key Adults demos - since w/o 11/16/20.

Season to date, "Nightline" (306,000 and 213,000, respectively) is beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (250,000 and 176,000, respectively) by its largest season margins in Adults 25-54 (+56,000) and Adults 18-49 (+47,000) in 5 years - since the 2015-2016 season.

In addition, "Nightline" is slashing its margins with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Adults 25-54 (-64% - 25,000 vs. 69,000) and Adults 18-49 (-72% - 14,000 vs. 50,000) versus the same point last season, posting its closest-ever performance with the NBC program in both measures since the two programs aired in their current time periods - since the 2014-2015 season.

NOTE: "Nightline" was preempted on Thursday (12/31/20) for ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2021 - Part 2" and was coded as a special on Friday (1/1/21). For New Year's Week, CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC" from Monday through Wednesday and was specialed on Thursday and Friday. NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" on Monday through Thursday and was specialed on Friday. ABC's and CBS' weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Wednesday) and NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
