'NIGHTLINE' IS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS
'Nightline' Grows in Total Viewers and Adults 24-54 Over Previous Week Posting Largest Overall Audience in Four Weeks
Season to Date, 'Nightline' Leads 'CBS' in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49
ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers during the week of July 11, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading CBS' "Late Late Show-JC - ENC" and NBC's "Seth Meyers-SM." "Nightline" also beat the CBS program in Adults 25-54.
"Nightline" improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+14% - 759,000 vs. 667,000) and Adults 25-54 (+1% - 176,000 vs. 175,000). In addition, "Nightline" drew its largest overall audience in 4 weeks - since w/o 6/13/22.
Season to date, "Nightline" is beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 7th consecutive year - since the 2015-2016 season.
This week, "Nightline" covered "Real Housewives" star Jennifer Shah, who pled guilty to fraud in a telemarketing scam; Uvalde families demanding answers and accountability; Rob Kearney, the first openly gay pro "Strongman" on his personal challenges and victories; the Jan. 6 hearings, which focused on Trump's refusal to accept 2020 election results; Olympic champion Mo Farah, who revealed he was trafficked as a child; pilots in training hoping to ease the pilot shortage and travel woes; Sting and Shaggy's new Sinatra-style album; the new Hulu documentary "Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons" and more.
NOTE: For the week, CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC - ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" due to being repeats. The telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
