CBS News and Stations on Track to Hit More Than 250 Billion Minutes of News Viewing in 2022

CBS NEWS AND STATIONS continues to grow across platforms and as a division, amassing more than 20 billion total minutes of viewing each month across digital and linear on national and CBS stations. The division is on track to hit more than 250 billion minutes of viewing of news content in 2022. The CBS News Streaming Network has garnered nearly 1 billion streams in 2022 and posted double-digit growth on all new streaming shows. CBS News Streaming Network viewers watch for an average of 117 minutes a day.

60 MINUTES is the #1 primetime news broadcast for 2022, averaging 9.12 million viewers, with 1.68 million in the adults 25-54 demographic. 60 MINUTES ranked #1 in primetime among all news, entertainment and sports programs seven times in 2022 and was a top 10 show a whopping 28 times in 28 original airings. 60 MINUTES is the #12 primetime broadcast in viewers for 2022. CBS SUNDAY MORNING held its ranking as the #1 Sunday morning news program for 2022, its 19th consecutive year as #1 in viewers and all key demographics with an average of 5.256 million viewers, with 824,000 in adults 25-54, 461,000 in women 25-54 and 362,000 in men 25-54. CBS SUNDAY MORNING garnered 50% of the three-net total Sunday audience for the second consecutive year, its best performance since 2002's 51% share. (Watch CBS SUNDAY MORNING)

FACE THE NATION WITH MARGARET BRENNAN is the #1 Sunday public affairs program for the third consecutive year. FACE THE NATION averaged 2.939 million viewers, with 506,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic, 270,000 in women 25-54 and 236,000 in men 25-54. FACE THE NATION built its largest viewer lead over NBC since 2014 and led NBC in women 25-54 for the first time in eight years. For the 2022 calendar year, FACE THE NATION garnered its largest total viewers share (36% of three-net audience) in seven years (since 2015), and its largest share in women (33%) in eight years (since 2014). CBS MORNINGS is the only network morning program to grow year-to-year in any demographic category, finishing the fourth quarter up +6% vs the fourth quarter of 2021 in women 25-54 and up +1% in women 25-54 for the full year. CBS MORNINGS gained three competitive share points in women 25-54, while both competitors declined. CBS MORNINGS gained two audience share points year-to-year in adults 25-54 while NBC lost two share points. CBS MORNINGS hit an all-time high with its piece of the morning news pie, drawing 26% of the three-network morning audience in adults 25-54 and women 25-54, its largest in each demo since at least 1991. CBS MORNINGS will finish the year with the tightest gaps ever with NBC across all key demos (since at least 1991) and its tightest gap ever with ABC in adults and women 25-54. For the year, CBS MORNINGS averaged 2.43 million viewers with 526,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic, 323,000 in women 25-54 and 203,000 in men 25-54. (Watch CBS MORNINGS)

CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O'DONNELL will close out the calendar year delivering the tightest gaps with NBC in adults and women in 27 years (since 1995) and the tightest gap with ABC in adults 25-54 in three years (2019) and among women 25-54 in four years. CBS EVENING NEWS averaged 4.899 million total viewers with 811,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic, 438,000 in women 25-54 and 373,000 in men 25-54. (Watch the CBS EVENING NEWS)

48 HOURS is Saturday's #1 primetime non-sports program in viewers, averaging 3.47 million viewers with 715,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic. 48 HOURS has been Saturday's #1 non-sports primetime program for the last 16 calendar years. (Watch 48 HOURS)

CBS SATURDAY MORNING will finish 2022 delivering the tightest gaps ever with NBC in viewers, adults 25-54, women 25-54 and men 25-54 (since at least 1991). CBS SATURDAY MORNING will also finish the year delivering the tightest gaps with ABC in adults and women 25-54 in 18 years (since 2004). CBS SATURDAY MORNING averaged 1.788 million viewers, with 339,000 in the adults 25-54 demographic, 189,000 in women 25-54 and 149,000 in men 25-54.
