'Nightline' Reports Increases in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, Delivering Its Strongest Key Adult Performances in 3 Months
Season to Date, 'Nightline' Grows in Total Viewers, Posting Its Strongest Numbers in 3 Years
ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (806,000), Adults 25-54 (193,000) and Adults 18-49 (124,000) for the week of April 22, 2024, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading CBS' "After Midnight" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."
"Nightline" turned in increases versus the previous week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+4% - 806,000 vs. 773,000), Adults 25-54 (+15% - 193,000 vs. 168,0000) and Adults 18-49 (+12% - 124,000 vs. 111,000). "Nightline" delivered its strongest key Adult performances in 3 months - since w/o 1/15/24.
Season to date, "Nightline" is growing versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (916,000 vs. 914,000), posting its largest overall audience in 3 years - since the 2020-2021 season.
This week, "Nightline" covered the protests erupting across college campuses; Atidna International, a student group bringing Palestinian and Jewish students together in dialogue; former President Donald Trump's hush money trial; the NFL draft; the impact fast fashion has on the planet; ABC News' investigation titled "Trashed: The secret life of plastic exports"; rising cases of counterfeit Botox injections; Celine Dion's battle against stiff person syndrome; the "A Different World" cast speaking about inspiring generations; take your kids to work day; Drea de Matteo opening up about her journey to OnlyFans and more.
NOTE: On Friday (4/26/24), CBS' "After Midnight" was retitled to "After Midnight-ENC." NBC's "Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. CBS' weekly average is based on four days (Monday-Thursday), and NBC's weekly average is based on one day (Wednesday).
