Top 10 Week of May 27: 'Atlas' and 'Bridgerton' Hold Onto the Top Spots; 'Damsel' Enters the Most Popular List
Kickass women dominated the film lists this week. #TheMother of the Most Popular List (ahem, J.Lo), had all eyes on Atlas, which topped the English Film List for the second week in a row, with 31.6M views. The epic sci-fi thriller was also the most-watched title of the week. Millie Bobby Brown proved she is a Damsel who requires no saving, slaying her way onto the Most Popular English Films List at #8, with 137.2M views in the first 87 days on Netflix.
First came love, then came carriage... then came three weeks at #1 on the English TV List for Part 1 of Season 3 of Shonda Rhimes' Bridgerton. The endlessly influential series clocked 11.6M views this week, taking its total views to 82M. With Part 2 set to uncover even more swoons, surprises, and scandals on June 13th, expect that number to grow higher than Queen Charlotte's iconic hair. The royal kept her perfect style and the Tons' attention this week, taking the #9 spot with 3.1M views. Forgo the tea for some Espresso and cue another dance for Seasons 1 and 2, which both remained up on the charts at #6 (4M views) and #5 (4M views), respectively.
Three new series made their debut on the English TV List this week. Docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult took second place with 8.8M views. Dancing to a different beat was the "compulsively watchable" limited series Eric, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which took third place with 6.8M views. The heartwarming British drama, Geek Girl, based on the best-selling YA novel of the same name, also landed on the list in seventh place (3.4M views). Returning to the list were the kids animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory in fourth place (5.1M views), the Shane Gillis comedy Tires in eighth (3.1M views), and Richard Gadd's breakout series Baby Reindeer secured tenth place in its eighth week (2.8M views).
Mother of the Bride, the romantic comedy starring Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, and Chad Michael Murray, held the #4 spot on the English Films List with 6.2M views. The kids animated feature Thelma the Unicorn dazzled its way into the #5 spot with 5.6M views, with a little help from the musical stylings of Brittany Howard and Jemaine Clement.
The intimate and emotional drama Raising Voices (Spain) debuted at #1 on the Non-English TV List with 4.8M views. Korean series claimed three spots on the list again this week. Dark comedy The 8 Show claimed the #2 spot (2.8M views), the time travel limited series The Atypical Family rose to #4 (2.1M views) and the romantic comedy Queen of Tears landed at #10 on its 13th week on the list (1.1M views). The Italian LGBTQ+ drama The Life You Wanted entered the list at #6 with 1.5M views.
New entries on the Non-English Films List included the thriller Colors of Evil: Red (Poland), which debuted at #1 (19.9M views) and reached the Top 10 in 88 countries, the sci-fi film Bionic (Brazil) which came in at #3 (7M views) and the feel-good family sequel Too Old for Fairy Tales 2 which landed at #8 (1.5M views).
