DESCRIPTION: (from Planet Green's press release, September 2009) Based on the 2006 bestselling book, The 100-Mile Diet: A Year of Local Eating by authors James MacKinnon and Alisa Smith, Planet Green presents the U.S. Premiere of THE 100 MILE CHALLENGE, the first television series to explore the highly-acclaimed local food movement in a provocative, entertaining way. Part reality series, part docu-soap, part social experiment, THE 100 MILE CHALLENGE follows the people of Mission, British Columbia, as they take on the challenge to eat food grown and produced within a 100 mile radius for 100 days. The six-part series, produced by Paperny Films in Vancouver, B.C, makes its U.S. debut on Monday, October 12 from 9 - 10PM ET, with new one-hour episodes airing every Monday starting at 9PM ET. |
