SPECIAL PSA ON SUPPORTING VETERANS WITH DISABILITIES TO AIR AS PART OF USA'S CHARACTERS UNITE CAMPAIGN
Special Flashback Auggie-centric (Christopher Gorham) episode airs tomorrow night at 9/8c on USA
USA's smash-hit COVERT AFFAIRS will air a very special episode on Tuesday, July 19 at 9/8c featuring fan-favorite Christopher Gorham as Auggie, in which viewers will finally find out how he lost his sight in battle. While on vacation in Istanbul, Auggie is faced with the man who blinded him and through a series of flashbacks, viewers will see Auggie as a solider in Iraq and learn the story of how he became disabled. Rebecca Mader ("Lost") guest stars.
As a companion to the special episode and part of USA's Characters Unite public service campaign to promote unity and acceptance, the network partnered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the American Association of People with Disabilities to develop a PSA featuring Christopher Gorham that raises awareness of the millions of Veterans who have a disability as a result of their service for our country and encourages viewers to lend their support. The PSA will air immediately following the episode and will direct viewers to more information and resources on charactersunite.com. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will also run a version of the spot in their 152 hospitals across the country that focuses more specifically on available vision care and rehabilitation services.
COVERT AFFAIRS is currently in its second season and also stars Piper Perabo, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Peter Gallagher, Kari Matchett and Anne Dudek.
