As long as singing competition shows continue to heat up the ratings, audiences will continue to see new ones churned out and the latest offering is over at ABC with "Duets." In this series, four established Superstars - in this case, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Robin Thicke and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles - each search the country for two singers to mentor and compete for the chance to win a record contract with Hollywood Records. Each week, the Superstar and one of their two partners will perform a duet live in front of a studio audience and face the judges. While there seemingly are parts taken from "The Voice" and "American Idol," the singers told our Jim Halterman during a recent press day that "Duets" is different than the others for a variety of reasons.
In the videos, Kelly Clarkson is paired with her singers Jason Farol and Jordan Meredith, Robin Thicke chats with Olivia Chisholm and Alexis Foster, Jennifer Nettles sits alongside John Glosson and J Rome while host Quddus talks about his own hosting style and why he didn't base his skills on that of other singing competition hosts on those other shows.
