Tonight during SUPER BOWL XLVII, CBS unveiled the "2 BROKE GIRLS Spectacular," a hyper-realistic-style promo directed by famed director/photographer David LaChapelle. The spot showcased the cast of the Network's hit show 2 BROKE GIRLS rocking out as glamorized fantasy versions of their series' characters.
The series' retro diner set was transformed into a surreal disco where Kat Dennings (Max Black) and Beth Behrs (Caroline Channing) danced to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard, with Garrett Morris (Earl) serving as the DJ. Fellow castmates Matthew Moy (Han Lee), Jonathan Kite (Oleg) and Jennifer Coolidge (Sophie) were caught up in the atypical action as well.
LaChapelle is known internationally for his exceptional talent in creating a unique hyper-realistic aesthetic. His striking images have graced the covers and pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Rolling Stone and more. After establishing himself as a fixture in contemporary photography, LaChapelle branched out to direct music videos, commercials, live theatrical events and the critically acclaimed dance documentary feature RIZE. His directing credits include music videos for artists such as Moby, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine, No Doubt, and many more. His stage work includes Elton John's The Red Piano. LaChapelle has been the subject of exhibitions in numerous leading public institutions around the world. He was honored as Artist of the Year in 2012 at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Israel. A major retrospective of his work BURNING BEAUTY is on display at the Fotografiska Museet in Stockholm, Sweden through March 3, 2013.
2 BROKE GIRLS, now in its second season, is Monday night's #1 comedy, averaging nearly 12 million viewers per week. Airing Mondays at 9:00 PM, ET/PT, the series stars Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs, Garrett Morris, Matthew Moy, Jonathan Kite and Jennifer Coolidge and is executive produced by Michael Patrick King.
