SundanceTV released today the key art and latest trailer for season two of the witty and emotional drama, The Split, which premieres Thursday, May 21 at MIDNIGHT ET/9:00 p.m. PT. The new art features series stars Nicola Walker (River, Last Tango In Halifax) as Hannah Defoe, Stephen Mangan (Episodes) as Nathan and Barry Atsma (Hector And The Search For Happiness) as Christie.

This season finds the Defoes back, at newly merged law firm Noble Hale Defoe, and as former rivals now find themselves on the same side of the table, Hannah's (Walker) latest case is set to put NHD firmly on the map. Meanwhile, Rose (Fiona Button, Lip Service) and James (Rudi Dharmalingam, The History Boys) return from their honeymoon with ambitions to start their own family and Nina (Annabel Scholey, Being Human) teeters on the edge, as the consequences of her erratic behavior finally catch up with her. Ruth (Deborah Findlay, Leaving), now forced out from her role as head of the family firm, must search for a new purpose in her life.
Helmed by award-winning writer Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady) and executive producer Jane Featherstone (Chernobyl), this witty examination of modern marriage in its sophomore season introduces new complex realities behind damaging affairs, power struggles in toxic relationships and what lies behind a sparkling public image of a celebrity love. The Split is produced by Sister Pictures for BBC One, co-produced with SundanceTV, and was re-commissioned by Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama, and Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content. Series Two is executive produced by formerly stated Abi Morgan and Jane Featherstone, along with Lucy Dyke (Black Mirror, Ripper Street) and Lucy Richer for the BBC.
